The project’s goal was to lower social inequalities in the mining cities’ outskirts, strengthen community services, as well as spread and share these results. The target group is six mining cities, which face similar challenges and problems as Pécs-Vasas does. The primary target group is located East of Pécs (containing 7 villages, settlements), where the organizers initiated the development of the communities and built cooperation with the local organizations. Activities like the Community Information Center, the Community Advovacy and the Community Services provided a complex solution model to the 7 villages and settlements (about 2000 people), and to six more mining cities. Results and experiences were shared and discussed with the NGOs in the six mining cities’ outskirts and at the same time the organizers helped them start similar projects. A webpage was launched with an action plan: Development of the communities in the outskirts.
