External investment has caused increasing social-economic conflicts between newcomer investors, wealthy inhabitants and those who do not enjoy any benefit from the local business development in touristically developing Hungarian rural regions. In order to contribute to the solution of this problem the objective of the project was to set up local pilot CSR initiatives in an affected region (Etyek-Velence-lake area). The project main target groups were local people, newcomers, segregated groups, social grassroots, businesses, local governments and institutions. Cooperating with local people the organizers used the experiences of Hungarian, European and Norwegian CSR networks during the project. The output is strengthened capacity, new partnerships, joint SCR strategic planning of the target groups, 3 multi-stakeholder CSR initiatives, a new information network and knowledge products for multiplication. The outcome is the implemented multi-stakeholder CSR model as a sustainable rural development tool in Hungary carrying a message that NGOs and the for-profit sector, locals and newcomers, wealthy and poor people might build a partnership with a mutual benefit in cooperation with the local governments contributing to the good governance, sustainability and the improvement of life quality. A practical benefit is that the multiplication of the model is possible by the products of the project.
