The compulsory education age in Hungary was lowered to 16. As a consequence, vulnerable youth is not able to fullfill their needs or to fully enjoy their basic human rights especially their right to education. The project aimed at empowering vulnerable young people between 10-16 and their direct environment to advocate for their interests through human rights education. To achieve this, a series of human rights education workshops were organized in 10 afterschools, as well as 2 human rights camps, and 4 thematic days both for students and their parents. The organizers equipped the participants with tools and different perspectives to learn about and stand for human rights. They also want this project to be sustainable and have a long term impact. Therefore trainings for afterschool teachers, conference for involved professionals, informal forums for parents were also organized involving 10 local NGOs.
