In Hungary the number of the early school dropouts between the ages of 13-20 years old disabled youth is very high, the rate exceeds 40%. There is a lack of a determined career guidance system. The main objective of the project was to develop a complex, sustainable career guidance system and its method.
A situation analysis was realized firstly. Its steps were: questionnaires, focus group interviews, interviews with professionals and document analysis. Based on this analysis a methodological modell, a Curriculum guide and a belonging methodological attachment were prepared. 14 workshops were organized in order to channel the ideas and experiences of professionals and youth into the practical application of the model; and also to synthetize the experiences about the model of trainers and professionals. 8 action days (with flashmobs, sensitizing games, career guide tests etc.) were organized in order to popularize the method. The curriculum and the training program was officially authorized and registered. 40 professionals were trained to use the model that was tried out by them in 20 places (every counties plus Budapest) with 200 youth. Promotion of the project was countrywide, as the project promoter participated in several programs and events where the target groups and professionals were reached. Beside the online social media entries, a leaflet about the model was prepared, the collaborating partners distributed flyers, and the model was introduced in several professional programs.
The project promoter had 2 partners in this project. Their cooperation was successful as they had clear division of tasks, and there were also 17 collaborating organization. The organizations were in regular connections, they informed each other on a daily basis.
