By organizing the Roma Pride Day the organizers wanted to act in order to strengthen Roma self-esteem that considerably weakened during the past decades. Their short-term goal was to involve many hundreds - thousands of Roma and non-Roma supporters, sympathizers to place and with their stance to stand up to our common interests. The organizers believe that their presence can show a social basis supporting the common aims. After several unsuccessful Roma demonstrations, the small number of participants the organizers aimed to give the feeling of "we can do it" for Roma activists and communities. Their long term goal was to strengthen cooperation within the community, and to initiate an overarching consensus. On 17th October 2015 a spectacular march was organized, with stage programs, involving a few hundred or even a thousand more people. The message was: "The public sphere belongs to us, too!". They launched a signature-collecting campaign "We want work!" and results will be reported at a similar event on 8th April 2016 (International Roma Day). The direct target group were the participants of the march, and those supporting the movement by their signature, but indirectly the organizers wanted influence the whole of Hungarian society.
