Hungary is experiencing a housing crisis, which is deepened by the government’s social and economic policies. People experiencing housing poverty (around 3 million at present) have little knowledge of their rights and their advocacy potential is low. Homelessness is highly stigmatized. The aim of the campaign was to make those grassroots movements visible that have fought for dignified housing in the 20th century and to inform people living in housing poverty about currently active initiatives and movements. The project aimed at strengthening the citizenship of affected groups and provided inspiration for social justice organizing today. The target group could learn about the current initiatives they can join as well as the methods of effective advocacy. They can also acquire skills to start their own initiatives. The organizers aimed reach 500 people living in housing poverty through a traveling exhibition that was displayed in 3 different social institutions, 30 of whom also participated in workshops. A two-week long exhibition in a public space reached about 5000 people, 20 of whom participated in a workshop. The target groups were people who The foundation cooperated with 3 Hungarian social institutions, a historian and a designer.
