15.1 Volunteers of Pedagogy for Orphans
15.2 How could learning be fun and useful at the same time for orphans? How could they learn to learn and release the pressure on their learning achievements? Our main goal is to pass over tangible answers and to introduce experience-based learning methods to the children of Pilis Foster’s Home with the help of devoted, young volunteers in the frame of a 20-day camp in summer. We ensure a relaxed atmosphere, a break-away from daily routine with adventurous and colorful programs.
15.3 Our target group is 73 children of the Pilis Foster’s Home. Our foundation (Csepp a Tengerben Alapítvány) recruits volunteers among students of pedagogy from the renowned Eötvös Loránd University offering them valuable experience for their future career.
15.4 We organize an 8-day training for the volunteers to prepare them for the programs and the needs of the project where therapeutic methods in orphans’ care and skills for organizing leisure activities are to be improved. The schedule shape and develop the competences of the disadvantaged children with means of alternative educational methods without formal expectations.
15.5 We consider as major benefits of this project that after the summer camp the children acquire new learning methods and strategies and gain a different approach towards education. On another level, we expect that the interpersonal, informal parts of the program help them to develop a more constructive approach to their l
