Project title: Support social reintegration of inmates with an innovative methods such as fairy tale circle, and the family group decision-making. Presentation of best practices.
Project goals and objectives: Reduce the negative effects and consequences on the children of the inmates. Improve the communication and the relationship between prisoners and their families. Using the family group decision-making model the family members learn about the inmate’s prison life and his ideas of the future.
Target group: The fairy tale circle is for inmates who have children. The family group decision-making model is for inmates who prepare for the release.
Used methods and project activity: Inform the staff and the inmates. Select inmates to participate in the program. Sign contracts and other required documents with the inmates involved to the program. Make the fairy tale circle group sessions and present the tales for the family during a visit. Select inmates for the family group decision-making model, keeping FGDM-seats. Organize a conference. Collect professional experiences, set a protocol.
Level of involvement and activity of partners: The partners cooperate closely in the implementation of the project. The partners show new ways of supporting the reintegration for the prison staff. The partners present the project to non-governmental organizations and agencies around the prison who work with families and children.
