The youth unemployment rate is really high in Hungary. Generally fewer youth try to apply for jobs and they have less success. The high rate and the reproduction of unemployment deepen the inequality, the structural discrimination and social dissatisfaction. The problem is known, many civic organizations try to deal with it, but they lack the network and cooperation that would make their work more efficient. The objective of the project was to realize an adoptable complex program that is based on non-formal learning methods and to create a network of experts in order to decrease the number of unemployed youth and to ease the transition from schools to the labor market.
There was a huge interest in the program, more than 60 people applied for the training series (200% oversubscription). The complex service pack focusing on skills development of youth was given to civic organizations, schools and social service providers through trainings. 20 representatives and experts took part in the series of trainings including the knowledge transfer of practice oriented career guidance method and digital career map (DCM). The program thematic was finalized and got ready for the usage in schools. The thematic includes CV and motivation letter writing, group job interview training, individual job interview training, simulations and relevant experience gaining program. From Budapest 3 vocational schools and 1 vocational school from Szentendre cooperated in the project. During the project 26 youth were involved to the program, their complex development program was elaborated, they also went on factory visits. The project promoter edited short videos in order to introduce and popularize the program, you can reach them on the Youtube channel of the organization: https://goo.gl/NgAC2y
