The aim of the project is to dismantle prejudices against homelessness, and to test community funding as a means of fundraising and a solidarity practice in social care. The program is especially relevant because of the policies of the past few years which mean that authorities can now sanction people for being poor. In the present project they would like to carry out a model program of a new type of individual support system - by investing into things (training, tools, etc.) through community funding to enable the homeless to do something for their own better circumstances. A documentary by Zöld Pók Foundation about the A Város Mindenkié (AVM) can reach its target audience with a much deeper and more detailed message. A successful community fundraising and its publicity can strengthen solidarity, it can make the methodology of the Van Esély Foundation accepted.
The progress of the project:
We have been shooting the film, which introduces the A Város Mindenkié (AVM) Group, since the beginning of the program. Within the Green Spider Foundation we have daily meetings about the film. We also collaborate with the film group within AVM on a weekly basis. An international production partner has joined our team since then, and we are looking for new international partners to support the production. Beside the main project, we also create shorter works, which are an effective tool for AVM and the School of Public Life (Filmvetítés a Wesley János Főiskolán:

The tenth community fund raising initiative has started as a part of the Van Esely Foundation’s Saving in a Different Way program. The supporting crowd has increased in number and has grown stronger. The fundraisers so far have been a success.
The participants gave a positive feedback about the exchange of experience and knowledge, and the media training, organized by the activists of AVM. The goal of this project was to prepare the participants of fundraising campains to the effects of public appearances and to minimise the risks to withdrawing from the campaign.
The case study groups of this stage of the work took place in the workplace of, and with the crew of, the social worker. So far we have reached 61 social workers and professionals in 11 social institutions.
The course entitled Social movements on cinema, organized by the School of Public Life kicked off with 15 participants. At the end 13 participants recived certificates (87% of the initial number completed the course). As a part of the course, the most influential social movements of the 20th century have been introduced with the help of classic movies. The second course, between January 5th, 2016 and February 23rd, 2016, has started with a similar number of people. http://www.kozeletiskolaja.hu/post/kepzesi-felhivas-hatranyos-helyzetu-e...
